Sheep

sheep1tn.jpg (5596 bytes)Hunting any species of sheep is truly demanding and takes both physical and mental toughness. The term "sheep shape" means a real commitment by the hunter. To have harvested the Grand Slam in sheep is a great feat in my opinion. Dall Sheep are the most popular of the four species and are located in Alaska, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. Most hunts are on foot or horseback, and take place in August and early September in beautiful country. They can be combined with other animals. Stone sheep are found in northern British Columbia and southern Yukon. Most of these hunts are done on horseback and are usually very successful. Best opportunity at the Rocky Mountain Bighorn is in Canada where permits are available, although they are not cheap. British Columbia has the California Bighorn which are a bit smaller and a little less expensive. There are a limited amount of permits in the Rocky Mountain states but you must apply in order to draw. We can help you with this procedure. The Desert Bighorn is the hardest to get in the Grand Slam. This is because permits are extremely limited and very costly. A few states offer a draw for permits and again you have to be lucky. Through our qualified contacts we provide exciting hunts abroad for Snow Sheep, Marco Polo and Argali.
